It's a Girl!

Six years ago today, we heard those words "It's a girl!"

I still think of her as our baby.......

first day home from the hospital
Jack getting acquainted with his little sister.

....but two days ago she lost her first tooth, and today she turned 6!  Hardly a baby anymore!

Emmie is everything "girl". Dolls, dress up, makeup and diamond rings.  She notices when I put on a new piece of clothing or don earrings she's never seen before.  She's silly and snuggly and as persistent as they come.

We celebrated her special day with a group of girls from her kindergarten class.  With a birthday ten days after Christmas, the decor remained simple.

Old tissue poms that I'd made for a baby shower hung from the ceiling.

And tulips add a splash of pink to any little girls party!

The goodie bags were  easy, thanks to the dollar section at Target.

Today's dessert selection was sugar cookies, frosted by the party attendees.

Happy 6th birthday, big girl!
